Competitors are placed by age, rank, and gender. Forms, weapons, and sparring across youth and adult, under belt through black belt. Music is optional in most black belt & championship divisions.
Sparring competitors need approved headgear, hand & foot pads, and a mouthguard; chest & groin protection per division rules. Bring your own NASKA-legal weapons for weapons divisions.
Check in before your division's posted ring time. Clean uniforms, good sportsmanship, and judges' decisions are final. It's a family-first event — respect the mat, the officials, and your fellow competitors.

Yes. The Memphis Open is sanctioned by NASKA (3A rated), PROMAC, and SMA — so your results count toward national rankings and season points.

Absolutely — it's a family-first event. Spectator passes will be available, and the venue sits right downtown near Beale Street, hotels, and dining.

Choose "Coach / Instructor" or "School / Dojo" on the priority list and we'll send full team details, discount tiers and group hotel rates the moment 2027 registration opens.
Spectator passes are available at the door and young children typically get in free — 2027 pricing posts with registration. Parking is on-site plus nearby downtown lots. Registration questions, transfers and our refund policy are all covered in your confirmation once you sign up.
